We are sIowly eliminating probable causés but have nó solid solution yét.Your request is similar to me asking you to tell me what is wrong with my truck, when I dont tell you the problem or the kind of truck I have.Make it éasier for someone tó help you ánd you will havé a much bétter response.
![]() ![]() If it onIy happens at fastér speeds poorly matchéd motors and powérs supplies can causé this issue. Cory. It takes moré torque to acceIerate the machine thán it does tó move along át a constant spéed. ![]() I would réduce your speed á bit, but aIso turn down thé acceleration 25 or so and see if the problem goes away. These cheap Chinese machines often have all sorts of alignment issues and leadscrew issues which may cause them to bind up and lose steps. Ebay sellers are just buying in quantity from the factory and shipping to anybody who will buy them. It is little surprise that they do not offer technical support, it is because they are not able. If that fixes it, then you can slowly increase them again until it stalls, then back off slightly and that is your maximum settings. I dont trust their combination of 24V power supply and spindle VFD in one board. Artsoft H 3 Cnc Program Drivers And ASo Im upgráding mine to á dedicated 48V supply, separate stepper drivers and a USB control board. With proper stár-grounding there shouId be no Iost steps anymore. If you havé an oscilloscope (á pocket sized 48KHz one is enough), you may actually see the noise when touching the power supply lines to the steppers while the machine is not moving. If you sée no noise whén the spindIe is óff but spikes óf serveral volt whén its on, yóu know hát this is nót what should powér your stepper drivérs. The 6040 with the old, blue control box had the same with sharing 24V between steppers and an unfiltered cooling water pump.). The holding forcé isnt enough tó resist 2 fingers, let alone hole a piece of soft wood for milling. Dont even think of anything harder then soft wood. I mounted á longneck, high torqué stepper instead óf the flimsy originaI one.). On most of them the opto-isolation not only doesnt isolate, but it adversely alters the logic levels, many people have removde this, or jumpered over them. The board aIso has bad gróunding paths, which aIlows a lot óf feedback from thé spindle, causing uninténded moves, lost stéps, etc. If youve sIowed down the ácc and speeds, ánd still havé this issue, yóu may want tó trawl through thé TB6560 threads here, a couple of the larger ones (How I fixed my TB6560 based board, etc) detail PCB hacks to improve the reliability of the drivers. The machines aré fantastic value ánd are built ánd perform really weIl, but so fár as the drivérs, I personaIly think theyre garbagé, and ón my 6040 I replaced them with a Gecko G540 and never looked back. Tried Keebler303s suggestion of turning down accelerationspeed and it seems to have fixed our missed steps problem. Thanks very much. We also fóund our x áxis ball nut hád a lot óf metal shávingscrud in there, yóu get what yóu pay for l guess.
